The dual fixation disparity unit features a test to enable the compensation or otherwise of heterophoria to be established between two and four metres. The test detects the presence of horizontal and vertical fixation disparity simultaneously. The exact prism or change in sphere needed to eliminate the fixation disparity, and hence the patient’s symptoms, is easily determined.
The test can also be used for investigating ocular dominance and, when used at 1.5 metres, for investigating the sensory anomalies in strabismus. It can be used with or without a mirror. Can be used with all four polarised strips displayed, or with just horizontal or vertical strips. Polarised axes can be either 90/180 degrees or 45/135 degrees as required. A matching polarised visor is included.
