i.O.O. Sales Ltd. was set up in 1989 to raise funds to further the work of The Institute of Optometry through the sale of optometric instruments and associated products. Since that time it has been expanding steadily. The profits earned go entirely to the Institute.

The Institute, which is a registered charity, was founded in 1922. It is a centre of excellence within the profession of Optometry, and its main activities are optometric patient care, continuing education for Optometrists and optometric research.
